Formtastic now available from Quadrant Software

Formtastic

IBM i customers in the UK and Ireland will now be able to access Quadrant Software (now Fresche Solutions)’s Formtastic tool through Premier Business partner, Proximity.

Formtastic enables users to create custom-designed forms, cheques and bar code labels through an easy-to-use desktop interface designer. The document automation solution extracts spooled data from users IBM i and inserts it into a new business form.

Users can then automatically fax, email, print or store the newly formatted electronic document on their network.

Organisations can brand their customer-facing documents quickly and easily, automatically distribute them internally and externally, format them in PDF and TIF and save money by eliminating the need for pre-printed forms and printing supplies.

Document changes are automatically managed between connected clients and the IBM I, while Formtastic also pre-sorts spool files using designated criteria, making documents easier to review and distribute.

No coding or development work is required to benefit from Formtastic. It works ‘straight-from-the-box’ using pre-designed and mapped forms, cheques and labels for major applications. Formtastic also seamlessly integrates with any untethered signature capture device, including both iPad and iPhone. Formtastic has two primary modules: Formatter and Email Gateway.

  1. Formatter: as the name implies, Formatter takes any database data and spool file data, formats it and ensures that only the necessary data appears on the final forms.
  2. Email Gateway: enables users to send, receive, and manage both fax and email with familiar email software including GroupWise, Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange, and SMTP servers. Email Gateway means fax and email are combined into a single secure, easily managed system for the reliable management of incoming and outgoing business-critical documents.

Formtastic requires:

  • IBM i Server: IBM OS (Requires OS/400 V5R2 or Above)
  • Printer Protocol: HP-PCL 4 or 5
  • PC Client: IBM Client Access Express 4R4 and Above | IBM Client Access for Windows V3R2
