Since the turn of the year, Proximity has released a host of new features and functionality for Stream, the cloud-based delivery and transport management software application. There was also news of a another innovation award in May.

Load and trips management for multiple collections and drop-offs

To reduce empty running, cut transport costs and improve vehicle utilisation, Stream is now able to schedule the most efficient load and trip configuration taking into account multiple collections and drop-offs over multiple days.

Schedule adjustments via the driver app

Updates fed back from the driver app about actual delivery events can automatically update the estimated arrival times for future deliveries and collections.

Real-time delivery and driver tracking

It’s all well and good being able to tell your customers when their delivery has left your warehouse or depot. Increasingly, customers want to know exactly where their delivery is during the day. They want to be kept updated on the ETA so they don’t have to sit indoors waiting impatiently for a ‘morning’ or ‘afternoon’ delivery.

Since we announced real-time (or in-flight) delivery tracking as a new feature back in February, it has proved to be a very powerful and popular tool for Stream users, not least for delivering an extra level of customer satisfaction.

As well as providing customers with a short duration delivery slot from the beginning of the planning process, Stream users also have the option to enable their customers to track the progress of their delivery in real-time on a dynamic map along with updates to their estimated time of arrival – all through the tracking screen.

Real-time delivery tracking provides a greater level of information to both customer and user, helping to reduce missed deliveries and customer complaints.

Improved order tracking information

We’ve improved the order and delivery information available through the customer gateway. End customers will be able to find event information on their order in a clearer format. Your customer services team will also have access to exactly the same information.

Enhanced search functionality

Want to interrogate your data, but only want information on specific retailers/distributors? We’ve enhanced the search function to enable users to omit specific partners from search parameters.

Multi-vehicle types

Stream now gives you the option to set up and maintain multiple vehicle types which can have their own defined capacities etc.

Map-based vehicle locations

Want to instantly see where all your delivery vehicles are at any given time? Stream now gives you the ability to view the location of all your vehicles on a map.

Another innovation award for Stream

Proximity was also delighted with the news of a second major award of 2016 for Stream’s implementation at Scandinavian House after carrying away the award for innovation and excellence in eCommerce by fulfilment experts, James and James.
