Stream, an order, delivery and transport software application developed by Proximity has been shortlisted for an SHD Logistics Award 2015 in the Innovation Technology category.
Proximity used long-term Stream customer Scandinavian House as a case study for the award entry. Proximity worked with Scandinavian House to implement Stream which has transformed their business, enabling it to work more efficiently, handle more orders and deliver improved customer service.
Featuring a unique collaborative self-service customer portal, Stream gives control and real-time information throughout the order-to-delivery process.
Running on the IBM i platform using Zend Server, Stream is delivered as a cloud solution with access via the Internet and the mobile app for drivers.
Stream can also be delivered as an on-premise solution and has already been integrated with an application such as Infor LX and BPCS enterprise resource planning software solutions.
Dave Pickburn, director at Proximity said:
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award. Stream has been developed by Proximity over the past three years using PHP, RPG and JavaScript. The application shows just how flexible, powerful and open the IBM i can be for developing highly innovative, powerful and modern software applications.”
Installing Stream at Scandinavian House has brought significant business benefits, not least a 30% increase in business volumes without having to increase staffing levels and an impressive 60% reduction in call volumes and costs.
Anne Ridgway, director at Scandinavian House said:
“Stream gives Scandinavian House the ability to be 100% in control of customer orders with real-time data available quickly and efficiently. It has vastly improved both our customer services and operations. Being honest I wouldn’t like to imagine Scandinavian House without STREAM.”
