Delivering process improvements
Time consuming and error prone
AB World Foods’ Leigh site relied heavily on paper-based systems for the tracking of raw materials from receipt, through put away, to consumption on the shop floor. These systems were time consuming and prone to error. Infor BPCS, was not being updated with data in a timely or accurate fashion.

End-of-life
Heavy investment in barcode technology outdated
AB World Foods had invested in barcode technology to track the loading of finished goods onto wagons for distribution; that solution, based on batch devices, was coming to the end of its life as the equipment was becoming increasingly unreliable and difficult to maintain.

Real-time transactions
RF based solution for a range of inventory transactions
Design, development and delivery of a solution to provide real-time transactions via RF for receiving goods, put away, stock movements and picking for production. We also replaced the aging batch-based, finished goods despatch system, advising AB World Foods on the selection of appropriate hardware and RF infrastructure to deliver a robust, scalable solution.

Eliminating paperwork
Eliminating paper documentation reduces manual input errors
Directly updating Infor BPCS with a comprehensive range of transactions from the Leigh site in real-time has streamlined inventory management. This eliminated manual data entry and paper-based documentation, significantly reducing the risk of input errors. The solution also modernised the goods despatch process by replacing outdated barcode technology with a more reliable and efficient system.
