Proximity presents DELMIAWORKS at BPF events

Proximity will be presenting the benefits of DELMIAWORKS manufacturing software at three British Plastics Federation (BPF) events over the next few weeks – starting with the Thermoplastics seminar on 3rd October 2019 in central London.

On 5th November, we’ll be attending the Automotive Conference at Jaguar Land Rover’s facility in Castle Bromwich, followed by the Packaging Seminar on the 28th November.

Thermoplastic Composites Seminar 2019

When: 3 October 2019
Where: BPF House, London, EC2A 3JE
Run jointly by the Composites UK, the trade body for the composites industry, and the BPF, this seminar explores how thermoplastic composites will be used in the aircraft of the future, showcasing the latest technological developments and new approaches in the field of thermoplastic composites. The BPF and Composites UK event will look at topics including over moulding, hybrid moulding and perforated composites.

Composites are used in a range of aerospace applications, including engine blades, brackets, interiors, nacelles, propellers/rotors, single-aisle wings, wide-body wings. According to the Composites UK website, for example:

“The Airbus 320 uses a range of components made from composites, including the fin and tailplane.  This has allowed a weight-saving of 800 kg over its equivalent in aluminium alloy.  Composite materials comprise more than 20% of the A380’s airframe. Carbon-fibre reinforced polymer and glass-fibre reinforced are used extensively in wings, fuselage sections (such as the undercarriage and rear end of fuselage), tail surfaces, and doors”.

BPF Automotive Seminar 2019

When: 5 November 2019
Where: Jaguar Land Rover, Castle Bromwich
Held at Jaguar Land Rover’s facility in Castle Bromwich, this one-day seminar focuses on the current state of the automotive market – and what the future holds for the sector, including the issue of Brexit and what impact that may have on the sector’s relationship with the EU.

Topics covered during the seminar provide an overview of what the future holds for automotive plastics, including:

  • Electric vehicles – growth and opportunities
  • Thermoplastic composites
  • The skills gap and what role the plastics industry has in filling that skill gap
  • 3D printing in the automotive industry.

BPF Packaging Seminar 2019

When: 28 November 2019
Where: BPF House, London, EC2A 3JE
A range of presentations focus on how manufacturers can deal with difficult to recycle products and designing for flexible packaging, plus a potentially fascinating panel debate on the future of plastics packaging and reducing plastics packaging waste.

  • Barry Turner, from the British Plastics Federation, looks at the current state in the plastics packaging environment
  • A look at how Terracycle deals with difficult to recycle products
  • Coca Cola’s new strategies to increase recycling to consumers
  • Funding opportunities for plastics packaging.
